Photos Search offers a robust functionality for searching text within your photo library, utilizing advanced Text Recognition software to identify and extract text from images. The integration with Spotlight enables users to conduct searches directly from the Home Screen, enhancing accessibility and efficiency.

Users have the option to focus on specific time periods (such as 7 days, 30 days, or 6 months), or to scan the entire photo library. Once a photo has been processed, it does not require re-scanning, progressively leading to a fully searchable collection over time for immediate access.

This application successfully extracts text from any image and facilitates the copying of that text. Additionally, it recognizes links, phone numbers, calendar events, and more, providing a comprehensive tool for information retrieval.

Results can be organized into albums within the Photos app, allowing for further manipulation and management of found images. Moreover, Photos Search integrates with Maps to pinpoint the geographical location where each photograph was taken, enriching the contextual information associated with each image.

The app's versatility extends to scanning individual photos, documents, or screenshots. Photos Search also includes a Share Extension that enables text extraction from any image across various applications via iOS's extension feature.

Furthermore, a Photos Editing Extension is available for extracting text within the Photos app itself; users can simply edit an image and access the extension to retrieve all text from that photo seamlessly.

Alongside its iOS version, a macOS edition is included with this purchase. The iOS variant is also available separately under the name Photos Search Text at a lower price point.
